The Supernova Cinema, the house of the International Queer and Migrant Film Festival, brings a special program: An evening with the artist Sagí Amir Gross with live performance, film presentation, research, philosophy and a conversation with Dr. Derrick Brown and Annemiek van der Hell. “Connecting to people is the essence of my work; Telling stories of individuals on stage and in film. The research is about authenticity and intuition, which are important components for me as a choreographer, director and above all as a person.” – Sagí Amir Gross Sagí Amir Gross; Choreographer, theater director and filmmaker, born in Tel Aviv, lives in Amsterdam. After many years of international collaborations, including with the Louvre Museum Paris, Grand Rapids Ballet Michigan and Austinmer Dance Theater in Australia, he currently directs two independent dance theater companies: GrossDanceCompany Amsterdam & WestDeutsches Tanztheater Düsseldorf. Sagí brings cultures, art forms and collaborators together in his choreographic philosophy “Physical Script”. We cordially invite you to an exclusive Tuesday night at Supernova where Sagí will present and speak about his practice for the first time since the pandemic, including spoken theatre, dance, film, philosophy and research. He brings the movement researcher and cognitive scientist Dr. Derrick Brown PhD and film specialist Annemiek van der Hell joined in to connect the evening in conversation, and two dancers from the WestDeutsches Tanztheater in Düsseldorf to put the words into action. The screening of the dance film Kiss&Tell shorty will have its premiere this evening in the Netherlands.
